Rest day - Monday, May 21st 2018: Strandhill 0 km / Total 1210 km, 11°C, rainy and sunny

Rainy morning. As I was in advance, regarding my walk itinerary, and didn't want to pack a wet tent, I decided to spend another night in Strandhill, and stayed in my warm sleeping bag for the whole morning, reading.

After a big pizza and a hot Irish Coffee, the sun was back again. So I went walking along the beach. Strandhill is an important spot for surfers with beautiful waves. And the view on Knocknarea Mountain is better from that side, rockier with some cliffs and pine trees which smell good. Finally my walk along the beach was longer than expected, as I went on the other side of the little airport, visiting an abandoned church, the last remains of a village which disappeared into the sand. So even when I decide to take a day off, I walk a 6 km loop.

In the evening, the sunset was absolutely outstanding, with great waves enlightened. It was a moment of happiness, and I felt very lucky.
