Day 87 - Monday, June 25th 2018: Leenaun (Killary Harbour) to Letterfrack 21 km / Total 1798 km, 22°C, sunny
While I was having breakfast, I talked with a French guy doing an internship in Dublin, who has been cycling the Connemara Loop. We talked about the French tourists (those with such a bad reputation) and I actually found them really more relaxed in Ireland!
In the morning, I had a nice walk in the mountains with a wonderful view of the Twelve Pins. The landscape was absolutely beautiful. Then I walked along the Lough Fee, a little lake nestled between the mountains, the place was very peaceful and quiet, and no one was around. After my lunch stop in a coffee shop, I met the sea again, and as I walked along the coast, I could see in the long-distance Clare Island and even Achill Island.
I had to make a stop in Tully Cross in the afternoon and find a pub to drink something fresh as the weather was really too hot for walking. And the road to Letterfrack was getting up, getting down, turning all the time between hedges. There were more cars and less visibility. I followed two teenage girls walking along the road too, with small shorts. It disturbed so much an old man driving and who stepped aside to avoid them that he forgot to get back on the left side of the road. And I'm the one who's asked to be careful ... Tsss!
I arrived in Letterfrack at the end of the afternoon, sat at the crossroad, and waited for my Mum's bus as she's coming to visit me.
