Day 86 - Sunday, June 24th 2018: Delphi to Leenaun (Killary Harbour) 19 km / Total 1778 km, 22°C, sunny
Sleeping in a hostel on Saturday night inside an adventure resort isn't the quietest sleep you can have especially when there's a hen party. But never mind, I had a good sleep and when I woke up with the mountain view I just wondered if I had not to jump accidentally into the Alps during my sleep.
After Delphi, the road ends up on Killary Fjord. There, a woman on a bike stopped and asked me where I was walking to as she also wanted to hike. As I explained, she asked if she could take a picture of me, because she didn't often see a women walking on her own. Her name was Bianca and she was from Poland.
I walked the north side of the Fjord until Erriff River where there are waterfalls and salmons, and then finally left the (very long) coastline of Mayo County to enter Galway County and Connemara. After a short stop to get some food and a fresh cider (I know I should better drink water with such hot weather) in Leenaun, I walked the south side of the Fjord, until I reached my hostel, nestled in a forest used as an adventure Park. I was welcomed by a French woman, working here for the Four Seasons. There actually was a lot of French people in my hostel, as Connemara is very famous for us, thanks to Michel Sardou.
