Day 79 - Thursday, June 14th 2018: Achill to Mulranny 22 km / Total 1674 km, 15°C, cloudy
Big breakfast and back on the road, let's cross the bridge and leave Achill Island.
I was going back to Mulranny, but not by the Greenway. I chose to walked the south road of Corraun Peninsula. The first part was along the east side of Achill Sound, with a quick shower and wind in my face.
In Corraun, I stopped for lunch (well a banana and 2 slices of soda bread I kept from the breakfast), sitting in front of Clew Bay, watching Clare Island, and the big waves made by the wind and crashing on the rocks. I loved that moment. Who gets such a view like that for lunchtime?
In the afternoon, the coastal drive was along the cliffs, with no one and no house. Only green fern fields, sheeps, and the blue sea, under blue sky and sun. It was exactly how I dreamt of my trip. Oh wait ... I'm living the life I dreamt of! I'm feeling so lucky and blessed!
Just before Mulranny, I found a empty field for my tent that I had to build quickly as the rain was back. At the beginning, it was just a little shower, then when I finally got inside, it was a heavy rain. I shouldn't have been singing all afternoon!
