Day 76 - Monday, June 11th 2018: Keel to Dugort 8 km / Total 1612 km, 17°C, sunny
As it was going to be the first time I use my broken tent since I fixed it, I didn't want to go too far away, that's why I only walked to the Dugort campsite. On the way, I made a stop at the deserted village of Slievemore. Only walls of stones remain there. But you can see the houses along the road. Very small houses, most of them were only one room, where humans and animals used to live together, animals heating the room. The houses were abandoned during the Great Famine, and people moved to Dooagh. Some of their descendants still own the land of the deserted village. In fact, the walk of the day can be resumed as walking around Slievemore mountain, until I reached Dugort's beach and faced Blacksod Bay once again.
As I arrived in the early afternoon, I had time to build my tent. Well, it was not perfect but it stood up. I spent the rest of the afternoon writing and reading at the Cottage coffee shop.
As I was going back to the campsite, it started raining a little bit, so I got into my tent, reading. Despite children playing football around my tent (hoping the ball wouldn't hit my broken tent) I fell asleep early. When I woke up, it was midnight and dark outside. I don't often see the black night here, as there's daylight up to 11 pm. Unfortunately, that night was too cloudy to see the stars.
