Day 7 - Sunday, March 25th 2018: Dunany to Dundalk 24 km / Total 147 km, 11°C, sunny

The morning start was hard. I walked the inland for half of the day, and apart from a mysterious church of St John the Baptist in Dunany, there was nothing really interesting. So let's say yes, it was hard that morning, in my mind. For some moments, I just wonder why did I choose to do this? Why did I leave the comfort of my apartment to live in such precarity? Why do I leave my job where I was sitting instead of walking all day? Oh yes, I remember that's for it. Because I was sitting 8h per day (at least) watching my computer screen, locked inside a building. I left all of that just because I wanted to get some exercises (really hope I'm gonna lose weight), to see the horizon and to get outside, breathing fresh air. I'm doing it for my health. I read somewhere that the Hamish people in the USA are in better physical conditions than other American people, just because they walk more, something like 20 km per day. And that's it, the human being is made to walk 20km per day. Well not carrying on 15kg at least, but that's why I have to walk 20km per day.

So that morning it was hard too because of the loneliness. When I read "Africa Trek" from Alexandre & Sonia Poussin, I didn't realise how important and helpful it was to be 2, to have someone to share with, to support you, etc. In my case, I just don't know anyone who was ready to do the same. So let's say that morning I was in that phase at the beginning of life aboard, the "sick of home". And to be cold, tired and hungry sure didn't help.

After a full Irish Breakfast (my fuel) at a coffee house in Castlebellingham (wanted to go to Fooley's tea house, but it just burnt on Monday), I felt better. That's why food is so important for the body, and also for the mind. I just had to walk straight ahead along R132 to Dundalk. It was a big road, but not too many people, and there was a walk side.

I arrived early at my B&B, the Innisfree guesthouse, which I really recommend. The place is just so great, in perfect Victorian style, well decorated, I was between an episode of "Downton Abbey", and one of "Miss Marple". So lovely. And I had time to wash my little clothes, call my mum, and enjoy the big bed with so many pillows. So I had a great night, then a great shower and a big breakfast, all I needed for a good start.
