Day 61 - Saturday, May 26th 2018: Ballina to Lacken Strand 22 km / Total 1316 km, 22°C, sunny

On that day, it seemed there was only one subject everybody was talking about: the results of the referendum. I heard some women, wearing a t-shirt with the inscription "girl with dream became woman with vision", talking about it on the campsite. "They said 68%". Oh my god, is it true?

Later, in Killala, while I was having lunch and coffee, I listened to the radio, and they announced the results county by county. It's definitely a massive Yes, nearly 2 in 3 voted Yes. I felt quite emotional, to be here today, such a day for Ireland. And very proud of Ireland also, to be able to finally make that decision. Well, now Ireland feels even better for me to settle in!

So it was a very good day. Nice road. Sun was shining. It's countryside. Farmers were making hays, you could smell it in the air.

In Lacken Strand, I walked along the beach and found an empty field to put my tent, with cows in the field aside. When I finished building my tent, the cows were getting into my field where the barbed wire was broken. F***

So as they all came into my field, I moved my tent into the field they left empty, between some rocks and a pit.

At 5 am, they were back. My tent was surrounded. I could hear them, peeing, pooping, babies getting milk from their mother. One of the cows put her big mouth on my tent, I could hear her deep breathing just above my head (sounds like in Jurassic Park). So I got out very slowly and quietly of my sleeping bag, put on my shoes, and was ready to run out of my tent (it's good that my tent has two doors). Finally, they went away, not interested in my tent anymore.

At least I could enjoy the beautiful sunset!
