Day 60 - Friday, May 25th 2018: Rathlee to Ballina 25 km / Total 1294 km, 17°C, cloudy
Sometimes, after several nights in my tent, it makes me feel strange to sleep inside, without hearing the usual nature sounds. Finally, my real home here is definitely my tent, because I really feel like in a cocoon inside.
The weather was still warm but cloudy, with the wind on my back, which made waving the tall grass. That's a very little thing, but who, in our modern urbanized world can enjoy such scenery for hours? I feel like because I'm reconnected with Nature, I'm being a part of it.
In Inniscrone, I had smoked salmon for lunch. I had to taste it, as Ballina is the Irish capital of salmon. It was good.
In the afternoon, there was a pleasant road along the Moy River, in the woods. But with no real place to take a break (and to find a place to hide to pee, always the same problem for a woman).
In Ballina, I had to do some shopping and buy food for the next few days as I might find nothing on the road (so my bag got heavier).
I arrived at the campsite exhausted. At least it was not full, in spite of the bank holiday weekend in the UK (which means Northern Ireland). Even with the kids screaming around my tent, I was so tired, I fall asleep very fast.
