Day 55 - Thursday, May 17th 2018: Streedagh Point to Sligo 18 km / Total 1197 km, 18°C

While I was packing my tent in the morning, a man walked nearby with his dog, and felt surprised to see me as he said "Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you" (well that's the point) and "Nice spot for camping". Indeed. Except, the place was full of ticks (which means full inspection when arriving at the hostel, fortunately, nothing to declare).

I felt very shocked on that day, because some people, I guess "Pro-life" put a giant "No" on Ben Bulben Mountain, which can be seen from a very long distance. It refers to the referendum which would happen a week later regarding the legalization of abortion.

After a stop at the service station for a breakfast, I walked along the Big road until Drumcliff. I think it's on that road I lost one of my bottles and didn't realize it.

The area was pretty nice, with a lot of trees, and those mountains around. I like Sligo County.

In Drumcliff, there's Yeats grave. Well, it's just a grave, but the church nestled between the trees is pretty. And there's a tree given by Prince Charles as a sign of reconciliation and forgiveness (I think because of Lord Mountbatten who was killed nearby in a bomb attack by the IRA). After a pumpkin pie, I walked the last kilometres to Sligo where I decided to take some days off.
