Day 47 - Wednesday, May 9th 2018: Portnoo /Narin Strand to Owenwee waterfall 22 km / Total 1035 km, 15°C, sunny

Wind and rain at night. Wind and rain in the morning. So after a hot shower (had to remove sowbugs and centipedes) I packed my tent wet, but I expected it to be wet again in the evening.

After 10 km under the rain, with the landscape in the mist, so I didn't really see it, I arrived in Ardara, the Irish capital of tweed. I found a place for lunch, and despite I could have smoked salmon or oysters (for my birthday meal I didn't have the day before), I preferred a hot meal due to the weather, so I had mackerel. Well, it tasted good, but with many fish bones, and the taste stays in your mouth for a while!

I then took a little road which for once, was also an official pedestrian trail. Once again I had to put a baby lamb back in his field with his mother. I made a little stop at Assaranca Waterfall after climbing a very long and lonely road in the Glen. At the top, there was a little path I saw on Google Earth, isolated, and decided to follow it. But all around, it was bog, very wet, so I had no choice than putting my tent in the path, which was made of rocks, so not the ideal situation. And as predicted, the rain came back again.

There was a quarry not very far away, and I heard shouts (in fact explosions) every 10min until 11 pm and started again at 8 am. Despite that, it was all quiet, not very comfy, but I stayed dry and could even get my tent dried in the morning.
