Day 35 - Wednesday, April 25th 2018: Leenan Head to Buncrana 20 km / Total 767 km, 10°C, sunny

The first lights of the day started at 4:30 am (sunrise was at 6 am), but I decided to stay a little bit longer in my tent, to let it dry from morning dew. The sun was shining, and the lough and the sky were perfectly blue. I walked to Leenan beach, which looks like a tropical beach with the blue sea and the sand. Then I had to cross the Gap of Mamore. The road was closed, but I assumed it was only for cars, and decided to climb it. It was cool because as there was no car, it was very quiet. In fact, they were restoring the road, and the workers allowed me to walk on the new macadam, which was still soft. And suddenly, we discovered a farmer in his car, who must have missed the indication about the road closed, so he kept driving, and must have stopped brutally because his wheels were stuck into the soft road. A worker asked, "what's the process in that situation ?". I don't know how they solved it, but inside me, I was quite laughing. Then I get down to Dunree head, walking into the "Amazing Grace country" (where the song was written), but didn't visit the military museum there. I walked directly to the hostel where I arrived early, so I had time to write and rest. Then I went into the town centre to find a hot meal for dinner. Lasagna with chips. I think I eat chips too often, on average at least every 2 days. I must change this. I then came back to the hostel and just slept. That's how my days go by: eat, walk, eat, sleep.
