Day 30 - Friday, April 20th 2018: Quigley's Point to Greencastle Cove 19 km / Total 654 km, 18°C, sunny
Another sunny day, along the Lough Foyle (4 days to walk around it); but the landscapes changed and I had a view above the Coast of Northern Ireland where I came from with Mussenden temple in the distance.
In the morning, I passed a B&B where some men were working on its barrier and who asked me where I was going to. 5 min later, a woman stopped her car close to me telling me she was the wife of one of the men and as he told her where I was going, she came after me, just to offer me a lift! Unbelievable! If I'm making the tour of Ireland walking, I'm pretty sure now it's also possible to make the tour of the island hitchhiking!
My target of the day was the Eastern point of the Inishowen Peninsula. I had no idea of where I was going to sleep, maybe of the beach at Stroove. But I found a campsite welcoming tents at Greencastle Cove, so I decided to take my chance. No one at the reception. I waited and finally, the manager came, he was feeding the horses. I explained my situation and asked for a place for my tent. I still haven't found any ATM and pray he was going to take my credit card. Unfortunately, no. I asked where was the closest ATM, and he said in Moville. Oh no, I've been there for lunch, and I missed it! 5 km away. So It means 10 km to go there and come back. But finally, the manager looked at me and said "doesn't matter, we are not looking after money" and he just let me put my tent there, for nothing. It was really nice, and I felt really ashamed not to have cash.
I built my tent, let my big bag inside and went to Dungaree Head, the eastern point of Inishowen. Finally, it's good that I found a campsite, cause it was forbidden to camp on that beach.
I saw many times the manager of the campsite, and I have to confess, it was really hard to understand him. Here in Donegal, the Irish accent seems harder to understand! I had to make him repeat many time some words, and I didn't catch it all!
