Day 29 - Thursday, April 19th 2018: Derry/Londonderry to Quigley's Point 17 km / Total 635 km, 21°C, cloudy
Only half a day walking. I haven't left the hostel for 15min, someone came to talk to me in the street. Emmett advised me about the places to see in Donegal, especially a circle stone close to Buncrana. It's just incredible, in France, it never happened to me, meeting people just like that in the street and exchange for some meters. I really like Irish people!
It was a sunny day, around 20°C, walking along the Eastern side of Lough Foyle and its oysters' park. At Muff, I left the Kingdom, crossed the frontier and was back in Republic. Republic suits better for the French woman I am. Well, what's really great was to pay in €uros again and to calculate distances in kilometres again. And at Muff, starts the Wild Atlantic Way (does anyone call it "WAW" ?). So now it's easy, I just have to follow the signs indications to the South. This is quite funny because, in fact, I was walking toward the North of the Inishowen Peninsula.
At Quigley's Point, there was a campsite, so I went inside and waited at the reception until someone showed up. The manager's husband arrived, so I explained my situation, and requested a place for my tent. The only problem was that, coming from the UK, and was running out of €uros cash, and was afraid they won't take my credit card. He just told me to choose a place, wherever I wanted, and to see with his wife later. So I put my tent in the sun (20°C inside, 1st time it happened in Ireland). It was great to be outdoor and sleeping in my tent again, I was missing it. In the morning, as I packed my tent, I met the manager, and she just told me I owed them nothing, it was ok. So great and unexpected! How generous Irish people can be!
