Day 18 - Thursday, April 5th 2018: Helen's Bay (Bangor) to Belfast 20 km / Total 377 km, 14°C, sunny
Ben was really nice because he asked to walk with me until Holywood. It was half the walk I had to do on that day. Of course, by walk, the way he used to take by bicycle takes 3 times longer to walk, but it was a very sunny day, so it was great. And he's the first one who wants to walk with me, that's good to have some company and to talk to somebody (cause I realised I started to talk to myself, from time to time). The morning was quite cold, there was frost in the grass, but the lough and the sky were so blue. And to Holywood, the coast is really beautiful, people are very lucky to run and walk their dog here.
After Holywood, I entered the industrial zone, with the harbour and the airport. That's not the loveliest part of the city. Belfast city airport welcomes little planes, but it's a long walk to avoid it (especially when you take the wrong side which ends up at Ikea). And then, it's the ancient ship building area, where they now build wind turbines.
I reached my hostel with very painful feet. I think I walked too much the day before. I said humans are made to walk 20 km per day, not 27. The hostel is an ancient one, so very cheap. I took a hot shower (the door can't be closed) and get my "pyjama" before getting down to the laundry and wash all my clothes. It's so good when my clothes smell clean. I had to make an effort to get out and find a place for dinner, cause my feet really needed to rest.
