Day 164 - Friday, September 21st 2018: Blackwater to Courtown 25 km / Total 3380 km, 15°C, sunny
I think I could rename the Full Irish Breakfast into Fuel Irish Breakfast. I knew it will give me strength for the walk, but I think I started to be tired of that breakfast. I missed healthier food.
Apart from my stinky socks, all my stuff was dry, and I hoped it will remain like that until the end of my trip.
As I walked less than excepted on the previous day, I had more kilometres to walk on that day. So I had to forget about the beach and walk the shortest way, on the road. Fields, hedges ... The only distraction in the landscape was the wind turbines. I really liked the fact that their base was coloured in green to insert it better in the landscape. And I was happy to see them as well on the sea. It was like a symbol of hope on the horizon for the next generations.
For lunch break in Ballygarrett, I ordered a goat cheese salad. In France,, I would expect some leaves with toasted bread and toasted goat cheese on it, with maybe honey and walnut. On my plate, there was just fresh goat cheese and leaves, with onions and tomatoes. I felt so sad in front of my meal. And of course, it wasn't enough to feed me, so I had to order a dessert. And my sticky toffee pudding came with ice cream. It seems really hard to have a dessert without ice cream or fresh cream.
That evening, in my hostel I enjoyed my last noodles diner. I think I'll never buy and eat it ever again in my life! I hoped also to wash my clothes, unfortunately, there was only a washing machine but no dryer. It means that I'll have to wait until getting back home before wearing clean clothes again!
