Day 126 - Friday, August 10th 2018: Caherdaniel to Glenlarhan 22 km / Total 2602 km, 18°C, sunny

After a good sleep, I felt in great shape. I left my very pretty hostel early, the sun with me. Most of the other guests were hiking the Kerry Way. But I decided to get to Castle cove first, in order to get a good meal. Since it was early enough, the Ring of Kerry wasn't busy.

After an Irish Breakfast, I had enough energy to walk the Kerry Way again. I took the little road to Straigue Fort, which I didn't see, as I met the Kerry Way before. Hard climbing at the beginning, and when I reached the summit, I could only see mountains around me. Interesting, I'm supposed to walk the coastline, how can I find myself surrounded by mountains?

As I walked down, I realized the path was in fact a cattle path: sheep poo, cow poo, horse poo. All of that on my shoes that will be in my tent at night. Imagine the smell!

Another mountain to climb and I was getting down to Sneem Valley. I passed over a French couple and a group of French hikers who asked me if I was walking that trail alone. Yes, and a little bit more than that ... I have to be careful with so many people walking on the trail because I realised that I was talking to myself! I think at some point, I'm so deeply in my thoughts, that I'm not really mentally there. My body is walking the mountains looking like Connemara, but my mind is somewhere else!

In Sneem, I took a long break, with a French Berry smoothie, sitting in a coffee shop. After 5:00 pm, I decided to get back on the Kerry Way and find a place for my tent. Unfortunately, the path was mainly going through a forest. And Irish woods are quite a mess, the ground is anything but flat, and there's absolutely no space between the trees. And after that, the path crossed a Resort Spa and Golf Club, so it was impossible to camp there. That's why I walked another hour and a half before I found a field for my tent. Interesting fact, the field had a door, but no barrier around, so ...
