Day 119 - Friday, August 3rd 2018: Dingle to Inch Beach 23 km / Total 2450 km, 17°C, sunny

A good night with deep sleep, and I felt better. Added some vitamines, two bowls of cereals for breakfast, get a scone and a banana just in case for the road, put a little bit of sun in the sky, and I was perfectly ready for my daily walk.

As I was leaving Dingle, I discovered at the little market that in Kerry they produce local chorizo and saucisson. Unbelievable!

I walked along the N86, quite busy, but the road was large enough so I could manage it. And after a short break in Lispole, I had the chance to walk on a new road with a cycle path just for me. Suddenly that path ended and the rain came back. Two bad news at the same time. So I quickly found a little road parallel to the main one, but which was in direct line to Anascaul.

There, I made a stop at the South Pole Inn. It's named like that because it was opened by Tom Crean (1877-1938) who was an Antarctic Explorer and went to the South Pole in 1910, 1911 and 1914, before getting back to his birthplace and opening this pub. Inside there's a lot of info and pictures of his adventure. There's also a window you can open directly to the South Pole (that's for kids).

After that, the road was smaller and passed along the Red Cliff. There, for the first time in many days, the weather was clear enough to see the Dingle Bay and the Ring of Kerry. I really enjoyed that scenic view, until I reached Inch Beach which is 4 km long, across the Dingle Bay.

My hostel was absolutely perfect, more like a lodge in fact. Very modern and comfy, and I was very welcomed by the lady who runs it. I took a cider at the bar enjoying the view above the beach, the bay and the mountains. What a perfect place and view!
